A structured start for calm, confident, and reliable family dogs · £399

A structured, in-home puppy training programme designed to build confidence, engagement, and essential life skills during the most important developmental window,  before problems appear.

By the end of the programme, owners have a clear structure, communication system, and routine in place, and puppies are prepared to progress into adolescence with stability rather than conflict.

What this programme is

The Puppy Foundations Programme is a structured early-development training package designed for puppies before adolescence, when learning capacity and adaptability are at their highest.

Rather than reacting to behavioural issues later, this programme focuses on:

  • building confidence and emotional stability

  • developing engagement and motivation

  • establishing early boundaries and calm routines

  • laying the groundwork for reliable behaviour at home and outdoors

This is not about drilling commands.
It is a guided foundation for the dog you want to live with long-term.

Who this programme is for

  • Puppies ideally starting between 8 and 12 weeks of age

  • Puppies no later than 16 weeks, subject to developmental suitability

  • First-time owners who want to start correctly

  • Families seeking calm structure rather than trial-and-error

  • Owners planning to continue training beyond puppyhood

This period represents a critical developmental window. Gaps here are the hardest to undo later.

What’s included

  • 4 focussed private training sessions (Typically 45 minutes & once per week)

  • 2 short follow-up virtual sessions in the couple of weeks after the programme

  • In-home sessions (we come to you)

  • Training adapted to your puppy, household, and lifestyle

  • Practical, real-life exercises, not classroom drills

  • Clear guidance on boundaries, engagement, and daily routines

Sessions are structured around:

  • confidence and environmental exposure

  • engagement and motivation

  • calm handling and early boundaries

  • early manners and loose-lead foundations

  • attention, impulse control, and core cues

Progression beyond is assessment-led, not fixed. Sessions adapt as your puppy develops.

How this fits into long-term training

Once foundations are in place, puppies can transition seamlessly into further training. There is no obligation to continue; the pathway is simply available if you choose.

Age & timing requirements

This programme is designed for puppies before adolescence, during the most important foundational window.
Once adolescence begins, a different training framework is more appropriate and effective.

  • Puppies should ideally start the programme between 8 and 10 weeks of age, and no later than 16 weeks, subject to developmental suitability.

  • Sessions are delivered weekly or bi-weekly to support learning and consolidation.

  • To preserve developmental relevance, the programme must be completed by 22 weeks of age (approximately 5½ months).

Puppies starting later may be better suited to our standard training or behaviour services.

Validity & scheduling

  • Sessions are scheduled manually after purchase

  • Availability: Monday–Saturday, 9:30am–6:30pm

  • Occasional virtual sessions may be used where appropriate

Important

This programme is designed for early-stage puppies only.
It is not suitable for dogs with established behavioural issues, aggression, or anxiety patterns.

Missed or late-cancelled sessions may be counted as used (see Terms & Conditions).
